Along the same lines guys...

Any advice on getting an extra spool for a Tioga reel (#10).
I see them at $70 at Cabela's.
Seems like a lot since I only spent $110 on the reel.

That just the way it is?
Thx

G-Man,

Yup, that's just the way it is. The spool costs much more to make than the frame and drag. Thats a ton of mtrl to remove.

I look at it this way.....you can spend a couple hundred for spools from other reel companies.

Hi Greg,

Get in touch with Mike Scott via Ebay. If I remember well you got your reel from him. Even if he does not have an auction going on for a spool I am sure he will be able to sell you one. I got all my Tioga stuff from him. Great to deal with and extra fast shipping. Some of the local stores like Natick Outdoor Store had sales going on Tioga reels earlier in the year. You may want to give them a call and see if they currently have deals.
