Did that fish "jack-knife" you in the kayak? or even haul you out to sea? Nice one! It has that "The Old Man and the Sea" feeling to the photo and or to your whole story. --125-3

10 minutes of tow. 5 minutes of eel grass gathering at rod tip. An hour and a half of watching my bow and bungeed fish submerging into power boat swells.

Especially one that doesn't leak. Every half mile for the 3 miles back to launch I had to pump a couple gallons out. I know not all the water was coming from splash, i'm guessing with the added weight of fish on bow of yak I was putting a screw hole beneath water line. Time to break out the marine goop. Fish was about 30#. 43 inches. Stern is well...shorter than that.
Nice fish! What did you catch her on?

Well I guess that SINKs do catch fish :D
You have got to love those fights where you start wondering if you should cut the line :)

Went out again early yesterday am. Lot of decent size fish holding tight to rocks. Released a decent 35 inch fish. Saw many more along the way. Went through balls of bait fish, they were making sort of a splashing rain drop sound when hitting something at surface-couldn't see them though (tiny pollack perhaps) I don't think they were herring.

BluesCruiser,
It's not the location, plenty of fish around the west end. I have caught many, just not of any size yet. Haven't gotten any blues yet, but that will come. I have a week off starting Sept. 10.
Set up is great. Every time out I learn something else I want to add or move around. I just added a compass using marine velcro so it is removable.
Figured out where to store things and proper securing with bungees.
Now all I need is fish other than schoolies.
Guess who taught me the pa pa pungo samba?? --127-3- --127-3-
