Used one once last year. Once. Nice rod. But it split in two the first time it was dinged by an epoxy-headed fly (not even a clouser).

I have a wonderful Nti 9wgt sitting at the bottom of the Piscataqua matched to a lovely Islander FR2 and Teeney 350gr line. (rig overboard last summer - ouch!!!)

Great rod and throws a line with great authority.

I had one of the originals and never had a breakage problem.

A member of this board by the name of "MAINEGUIDEMAN" was selling a Redington DFR 10wgt at the start of the season for a great price...do a search and see if he still has it available for sale.

The DFR is also an awesome rod
