catching atlantic salmon

i am going to sail to nova scotia next week for 2 weeks of sailing. i was wondering if anyone knows about catching atlantic salmon offshore. is it possible? how do they feed? what would i troll with?
any thoughts?

Any thing is possible I guess but these fish come to this area to run upriver & spawn The spawn in the fall as opposed to the spring or summer like pacific salmon species. I have fished the restigouche and some of the surronding rivers in classic Atlantic salmon fashion. If you can get off the sailboat for a day try to hire a guide. I think trolling offshore is a big longshot
