Deer Island 07/24 PM

Went out to DI hoping to get on Faun's agaian to win back some pride, the wind had picked up and it was rough so went into the harbor near the parking lot.
Fished from 5PM till 8.30 and got one hit but missed him.
Did not see anyboby else catch either.
Around 7pm I saw a lot of what I thought was little fish jumping neer the lobster traps but nothing with them, not sure what they were looked less than 2inches and kinda silver looking - covered a large area though.

Could you hear them? I don;t mean splashing, but more of a humming bird or draggon fly wing sound. Sounds like you found a school of bunker. There have been a steady flow of them the last month or so..

Not realy I can only say it looked like big raindrops hitting the water, little silver flashes.
Does not help much, he?

I would still guess bunker. There have been tons of it in the area. Last summer we had herring drop backs out of the rivers too...could have been a herring school. Would have been longer, skinny, about 3-4" in length by now I would think.
