Sandwich Mid August

I will be renting a house near Spring Hill Beach from Aug 14-21. I have 2 kayaks and prefer to fly fish when possible, or use light spinning gear for stripers or blues. Having never been to the Cape before I'd appreciate ANY advice on how to proceed. locations, tides, types of bait present, lines, flies, etc. Thanks in advance.

Definitely find Scorton's Creek. Access is off route 6A, look for sign East Sandwich Beach cottages across from cemetery (forgot name of road).

At end of this road, take right. At very end of THIS road take a right on a sandy entrance to creek. This section is owned by state and is well marked once you find it.

Go upstream, and be very careful of strong, nasty currents where creek and ocean meet (to the left (east) of where you will launch. Stay in creek and you may find stripers.

I found a lot of success on Hardem Beach. The end of the beach where it comes to a point and curves into an inlet is a great spot. The inlet out there is also worth a shot. Low tide at dawn seems to be best. One morning on this particular tide, the was 200sqft of fish feeding on the surface. if u put your fly in the water right below your rod tip a fish woud have smashed it that morning. Also at this spot, right at the parking lot bait seems to school up into giant balls. then it slowly moves up the beach with fish following so dont walk way down to the end without checking the parking lot first.

Be careful of tide levels at the parking lot for Scortens. I have seen two guys emptying their cars of salt water because they left and came back.
