Fished the Kennebec from 1st light to 2pm today. Large pods of blues between Fort Pompham and the Phippsburgh boat landing all day. Most of the blues were between 7 and 10 pounds with a few fisherman reporting close to 15 pd fish.
Loads of pollock off the beach to be had for bait, and the sonar was showing bait all throughout the river. However the blues were all spitting up small herring.
Bass were far and few between, but we landed decent fish off a rip just below Bath Iron Works.
Nice seam of water on a ledge that went from 75 feet up to 19. we took fish on this drift conistently for two hours.
Mouth of the Back River where it dumps in above Pompham Beach produced a few bass that were live lined.
Whitnessed a sturgeon breech today. Amazing to see.
Tight Lines,
Gilly
