Has anybody yaked this area? Looks like a good yak location with the possibility of fish. Let me know if you may be familiar with the area
Thanks

I've spent quite a bit of time kayaking up in the marshes. Not too many fish up there, but there are some good spots on the way out, such as the rocks between Scudder Lane and the western point, and around Phillis Island (especially the channel that runs on the north side). Make sure you work the tides to your advantage - very strong currents!

Bayside,
Thanks. Is there parking and good launch spots?

Scudder Lane would be ideal, but I believe you need a Barnstable beach sticker to park there. Your best bet would be Millway Marina area - Blish Point ramp. There's a little beach there you can drag your yaks down and leave while you park your car. Busy on the weekends with boat traffic, however.

Actually there are lots of fish up in the marsh. They get a bit tough to catch during the day due to the temperature and the greenhead flies. If you fished around a high tide late afternoon I suspect you could get away with parking at Scudder's. Another spot the gives a possible launch would be Navigation rd. off rt 6A. A creek comes there and presents a mile long easy paddle out to the main channel. In the fall there can be some great blitzes up marsh. Main problem with Navigation rd would be dealing a with a relatively steep embankment. NOt a problem at hide tide but could be interesting at low. Also study the creek carefully or mark a few waypoints on a gps since if the tide is low on your return, you can not see any of your landmarks.
I like to fish the channels at low tide.

The point of marsh to the left where the creek from Navigation rd joins the main channel is called Slough point. Off to your right out on the sand flats you can see various stuff from the clam farmers. Turning left to go deeper into the marsh You will paddle over a flat that has some deep water when the channel splits to go around Jackson Is. (right side. Good spots are north and south side of the Island fish the along the embankments away from the island. At low tide there is a channel on the west side of the island that connects with deeper the deeper water on the north side and can be a good spot to fish from the exposed sandbar.
