I'm thinking about buying Lamson Lightspeed 3.5 reel to put on RPLXi 9' 8wt rod for bonefishing use. What is your opinion about this reel?
Thanks.

These are great reels. I have a 3.0 and a 3.5 . They get the occasional dunking but I just rinse them off with fresh water at the end of the day. No problems. I also open them up at the end of the season and give them a cleaning. Light weight too.

I know a couple people at Lamson, the lightspeed is an awesome reel, the Velocity however is ...
I have a 2 lp 3.5's and love them. My cousin has 3 different ones as well. They hold up well and have stopped some fast fish. If Lamson makes it, it's a safe bet it will work well.

I just got the 3.5 and love it.
FWIW, I already own 2 Velocitys and now the Litespeed.
L-W makes great product and their customer support isn't so bad either!

I have been using these reels for three years now. Fishing for atlantic salmon, sea trout, bonefish... you name it.
No problems whatsoever!!!! The reel sounds weird without any line on, but when it starts to sing with a bonefish attached.... man, what a beautifull song! --127-3-
Your comment about the clicker sound is so true.
I got a 4.0 on a 10wt early this season and it's been great, arbor is huge for the weight, drag terrific.
