Jacob and I hit the water about 9:30 last night and did the complete loop around Deer Island. Not a great night, but not bad either. Started on the harbor side of the DI parking lot. Some action near the Deer Island peer, more for the guys that work at the plant than us. Paddled over to Deer Island rip. Lots of weeds, no fish. Marked what I first thought was a few fish, but could have just been the weeds. Paddled over to Faun Bar and got into some fish. We each caught 1 or two strippers in the mid 20's (inches) and dropped several more. The fish were still there when we left, but it was getting late and we both had to work. Nice night to be out on the harbor as it was clear, not too windy, and no boat traffic.

I went out at midnight last night with another fellow and trolled eels around Winthrop. It was busy from 12-3am with fish 40", 42", 42", high 30's to Gumbos fish at 45". Once you stayed clear of the debri the fishing was the nuts. This is the best Striper fishing season so far for me and we are not even into the fall run yet!

I went out again at 3pm today and got two more in an hour at 42" and 44" and fat. The ocean side of Winthrop is very active right now to say the least.
I have banged fish this past week from the Fauns all the way over to Revere breakers at all times of the day and tides.
