I'm looking for information re: the fishing scene in the Portland Oregon area.

(everything I've read so far talks about the declining salmon stocks over the past few years).

Can you help?

thanks,
ms

Not sure who spread the rumor about the declining Salmon in Oregon, but we have had record runs lately, and this spring looks to be better than the last, with a big run of 5salt fish, I guess they should be in the 25-30+lbs range. Feel free to contact me should you come out and want to fish.

I cant really speak for Portland area, but down on the southern coast we have seveal streams that are well known for salmon and steelhead. The Rogue, Pistol, Sixes, Elk and Chetco make up the most popular. Our problem this fall has been getting enough water. Califorinia is taking it from us. Other wise we have a great spring run and fall run in the Rogue. It is now steelhead season and all the rivers are producing. If you can make it down here it worth the trip.
