With the launch at Eliot closed we had to put in at Hilton Park, at low tide. What a bummer. There were darn few fish on the surface, anywhere, except a few pods of stripers, chasing bait and a small bunch of working birds off the Fort Foster shore. Between us we probably hooked up to 8-10 schoolies and 1 nice one about 30 inches. It was a wonderful day to be on the water, windless & "too" calm.

That seems to be the theme for this fall. I fished further up river for a couple hours in the morning and had a similar result. landed about half a dozen schoolies. nothing over 22" these fish seemed sort of skinny as well. I probably wont call it quits until the first or second week of october. Last year we had a few bunker in the river early in october.

why is the ramp at elliot closed? I just used this week several times
I called the Elliot town office the ramp will remain open but is closed for the weekend due to some kind of town festival. It should be back to normal on mon and there are no fees this time of year
