Paddled in Barrington on Friday afternoon. One five pound blue to show for it. Too windy to fly cast. Paddled way out, let the wind blow me back in, working a popper all the way. Produced the only fish of the afternoon/evening. Didn't see any birds, or any other fish landed.
Went for a paddle with my better half on Saturday in Barnstable. Brought the rods along "just in case". Trolled the tube and worm rig through some pretty windy paddling. Had just set the tube out and was paddling to catch up with Marie, my drag starts singing. "Great, hung on a bouy", I thought. Wrong! I turn back to see a fish thrashing on the surface. A nice fish, too. Turned out to be a striper, 8 lbs - not sure how long it was - a nice fish, though. I think there was only one nice fish in all of Barnstable Harbor, and the tube and worm found it. caught a twinkie on the fly at the launch before taking out.
Didn't paddle sunday, but waded for fish in Barnstable and Sandwich. Nada. Looked in a ton of other places that were also dead. Hope it picks up soon.
