Could someone please post the recipe for the infamous Boylermaker? I am tying something similar (my Skinnee Minnee), but would like to try this pattern. It looks great and I think it will work well here on the shores of Delaware.

Thanks!

I don't know the exact steps but basically its flashabou strung through a short piece of ez body or similar. Ones I have seen are mostly pearl or silver or green ez body. Tied down near the hook eye. Fklahs should extend past the end of the ezbody as in a tail. Either tie or dab the end with superglue to keep the ex body from unraveling.

Then 2 colors of polar fiber/craft fur or similar tied above the body, and below.

Someone please correct me and give better directions...

Note that this should be best enjoyed in either a VFW or Rural Rod and Gun club where the average price for a mug of draft beer should not exceed $1.25.

Take frosty mug of DRAFT beer. I prefer good ole Budweiser. Take a LARGE "swig" to cleanse the palate and reduce the vulume of glass a bit.

Take ONE 2 oz shot of Wild Turkey Kentucky burbon in a shot glass.

DROP shotglass AND burbon into beer mug and chug while still foaming. :-%

Belch loudly. Push mug back across bar. Ask for fresh frosty mug beer only refill. Nurse fresh beer and eat peanuts while waiting for Boilermaker to take desired effect.

Once desired effect is felt. Talk loudly to stranger about the "one that got away" OR the day you recovered a fumble in "The Big Game" 20 years ago.

Shaun thats what I have as well. Mine is olive craft fur over white. With a pearl ez body in between. One note is that the ez body goes over the hook. This fly is approximately 2 inches long.

I wonder, does said establishment frown on tying flies at the bar? :brow

I'll try your method as soon as I find my car keys...

LOL! No Not frowned upon. But usually tying goes on in the back room with the darts and the pool table looking out the windows that overlook the stocked pond!

Membership is $25 / year!

Want more torture? 5 Mins away from home (walkable in a pinch). Juke Box, Big Screen TV (and two over the bar), 3d Archery course, chicken BBQs, Hunter Suppers in the fall during deer season. Fishing derbies, pitch tourneys, cribbage, old heros who hit the beach in the south pacific and have forgotten more than I will ever know about hunting and fishing.

I could tell you where it is (it DOES exist) but I'd have to kill you. ;)

Oh please, do tell! Is it within walking/stumbling distance of Delaware? Now, can I have a Boylermaker before you kill me? :-%
