Thank you Peter Mac,
i' ve been wondering about salmaterflies.com, they seem to have great choise, at the moment i would rather prefer huntersangling because of the cost of the shipping.
What do you think about it?
I'm about to order ep fiber, unique hair, slinky fiber, is there a difference between those three?
bye

rico, I can see you'd prefer to order from hunters angling. I have found them to have absolutely everything I've wanted as far as fly tying supplies. They are up to date on every product introduced to the fly tying market and they are entirely reputable. Feel free to order. You will be pleased.

I live 50 miles from Hunters Angling and took a drive this summer to meet them. CLASS ACT! Buy with confidence-send an email with any question and an answer will follow!

Thank you for answering,
i just have to order now...
here in France shops are not very familiar with new tying material, so i think i'm going to roder different material to see how it ties.
If you think i should avoid certain kind of material because one is better (unique hair, ep fiber mirror image, slinky, polar hair, mega mushy, ep sparkle, dna...) please let me now.
merci encore.
à bientôt.

hi,
i'm not exactly sure what type of flies you're looking to tie. however, if you're looking for stuff besides the basic natural stuff (bucktail, hackle, etc) try using this stuff called poly bear. it's a 'fake hair' product for saltwater streamers. if you take a look at dave skok's site, http://www.dwskok.com/step-by-steps.htm, you'll see directions for his peanut mushy. you can follow the steps for that general pattern yet deviate enough to come up with your own fly. you'd also need some white superhair, angel hair, and a bottle of softtex. you can also tye some of the chris windham flies if you by this stuff called e-z shape sparkle body. it's similar (maybe the same) as fabric paint that you find in craft stores but this stuff is made in specific colors relating to fishing (you could also hunt around different craft stores until you find all the colors you want). this stuff comes in a small bottle and you squeez in onto the hook after you've tied whatever tail you want on the fly and it'll stay in the basic baitfish body form that you're looking for. it's especially good for smaller anchovy, silverside and sandeel patterns. for other 'newer' patterns, check out sheets of foam pages for making crease flies and 'sili skin' for these new gummy flies (they have some in the hunter's catalog if you want to see what they look like). also if you're into using clouser minnows or conehead flies, check out bob popovic's 'jiggy heads'. they are moreso constructed like a cone but have a larger hole to for slipping onto the hook with a notch to basically 'lock into place with the eye of the hook as well as a spot to add stick on eyes. they help make a good looking candy flie that's sink in a jigging motion. there's lots of other stuff but that's off the top of my head and the flies you'll with these materials work. good luck,
rich
