Weed Guards

DONT KNOW ABOUT YOU BUT WEED GUARDS HAVENT BEEN SO GOOD TO ME, I ALWAYS END UP LOOSING THE FISH.
IVE TRIED THEM WITH 60 POUND MONO ALL AROUND THE HOOK SHANK AND ALSO STIKING UP STRAIGHT IN THE HEAD (WHICH I HATE, IT MAY NOT TANGLE BUT I WILL SURE END UP WITH A PIECE OF ALGAE 10 TIMES BIGGER THAN MY FLY) AND WIRE, BUT THE RESULTS ARE ALWAYS THE SAME.
MAYBE MY STRIP STRIKE ISNT TOO STRONG, THOUGH I DOUBT IT.
BULKIER PATTERNS AND BENDBACKS HAVE BETTER RESULTS WHEN I FISH INTO SUNKEN TREES AND VEGETATION.
WHO ELSE HAS THIS PROBLEM ? :confused:

till i started using my left overs from years pasts leaders i use masson hard nylon in 30 # test very stiff stuff. i learend this from a pike viedo called fly fishing for pike bought it from orvis it shows larry dalberg tying a delberg diver using a weed gard and a wire weed gard to cool things. if your in to tying bass bugs i would start finding chris helms viedo's. buy them all to learn how to tie deer hair. truthfuly there is only one viedo you need of his is the one were he's looking over his shoulder. it agood viedo i would also purchase a thread called gx2 from gudebrod. this thread and viedo will solve all problem with deer hair all the outher viedo's cover are just different bugs and techniques. you can apply this to salt bugs like snook-a-roo etc..oh ya you may want to wait to purchase them because evey thing is going to dvd .sorry :mad:
