I'm having trouble finding a pattern description for the "Bauer Crab". Anyone out there know how to tie this little guy? Even better, if anyone has one I could purchase so I can imitate it that would be great. Even a pic or .jpeg image would help me out. Thanks for the help!!!

pattren 2:flats crab tan
tmc 800 size 4 thread tan or beige 3/0 weight small lead barbells body sheep fleece and lams wool or mc fly foam main color tan or beige sec color bright green or dark brown eyes burnt mono legs gray rubber bands knoted .

pattrens i would try to tye:

i am guessing you are fishing for bones two. buy the way you trim the body of those bauer crab pattrens in the shape of a crab not sure if you have equipment for tarpon so i will spare you the time. buy the way there are some book you should get one is fly pattrens ofthe umpqua feather merchants by randall kaufmann. this is were i got all these pattrens from. oh ya those bauer pattrens are ment to be dull not to have sparkles like crystal flash etc. ment to match a real crab. the colors can be achived buy pantone pen in olives and browns etc..for the legs here it show three on each side 3 at hook eye and 3 at hook bend .you got to devide the crab in to for section of a pie to see this tye the legs opposite each other. the eyes are quater turn on that pie wheel. and nothing on the side opposite the eyes.

by the way sorrry no picture my camera was stolen out of a car the digital type so i am out of luck on pictures for a wile

any ways good luck and tight lines rhino --123-3 --123-3 --123-3

Thanks for the help guys. I found a pic on Umpqua's site. Can't see the bottom of the crab so I guess I'll have to break down and buy one!!! That's kind of sacrilege for me but oh well, if it gets me into a permit it was well worth it.

Hi
Try this one, not a bauer, but a crab,, I use light colors when tying to match afterwards with markers.
