Anybody going to be in town? I'm going to try to do some fishing that week if anybody is interested in trying the flats on the south side of New Providence - let me know.

and, hopefully, a fishing partner.
By the way, are Banana Daiquiris and grouper fingers still the best at Traveler's Rest? I'm salivating on my keyboard. Conch fritters? As I kid, I used to call them "fried critters". Actually, that's what they are.
-Thanks Frank.

Yes, the Banana Daquiris are great but the master bartender,Junior, was killed in a car wreck recently, in front of his wife & kids. His drinks were great; he's missed for lots of reasons. The fritters & grouper fingers are pretty special too. You wouln't believe the growth around Travelers - I get to go there for lunch pretty often.
You have mail. Tues the 28th or Wed 29th work for me.

Widdoes & I hit the flats on the south side of N.P. on Tuesday afternoon. Cold wind blowing out of the east on a cloudy day. Nothing happening on an outgoing tide. Construction guys around confirmed bonefish out there, but not this day. Company was good and a cold one at Travellers. 'Till next time - off the Briland in January.

Ditto on the company and the cold ones :-% . I honestly believe that flat holds fish at the right time and/or tide. Just needs some more exploring. I put it to you, Frank ;) . Those osprey are not there for scraps from the construction workers lunch boxes.
I mentioned the BIG  fish that I had seen in front of our cottage- well, I finally managed to not spook them with my first cast yesterday and got a follow but I ran out of room- he spooked when I got him right up into the skinny water. Nuts! Spooked the rest of the school on the next cast. These were easy 8 lb. fish. Oh well, that's why there's next time.
Thanks again, Frank, for your hospiatlity. I wish you much success, and I hope you manage to preserve your access to the flat. I just know that it will pay off soon.
Happy New Year!
