I'll be staying in Miami at the end of February. I'm planning to hire a guide to do some flyfishing. Should I look to fish offshore or inshore at that time of year. Any advice on guides and fish available would be appreciated.

That's a great time of year to fish our area. In the 'Glades there's giant tarpon in Whitewater Bay when the wind will allow you to fish them. When the wind is up we've got good fishing all the way back into freshwater areas where you can catch and release largemouth bass, garfish, snook, redfish, and small tarpon in the same area.
Locally in Miami all the bridges that connect Miami to Miami Beach have small (and not so small) tarpon under them at night. These fish average 20 to 40lbs and are right at the surface holding in the shadows right in front of you. We do well with 8 or 9wt rods.
If you want to check out previously posted fishing reports for that month go to Cyberangler.com and check out the archived reports there. A lot of local guides post fishing reports there so you'll have a variety to look at. Drop me an email if you have any questions.
