I'm going to Peru to visit my daughter in April and wondering about fishing there. Amazon water will be high but maybe mountain streams will be ok? I probably will bring my Sage 6wt traveler. Any advice would be welcomed

There is trout fishing in the Urubamba River, which flows past the towns of Ollantaytambo, Piscac, and eventually Macchu Pichu. The Angling Report (see their web site) had a recent article with info on contacting a local guide who operates out of Cusco.

Be advised, however, that April is the end of the rainy season and the Urubamba will probably be high and unfishable. Perhaps guides may be able to provide other options.

Good luck.
