witchcraft prismatic eyes with tabs

Does anyone use these eyes? If so, do you like them and where do you get them? I can't find them anywhere.

I agree--Saltwaterflies.com is the place to get them and they work very well. I have found that the tabs are actually too long, which is a good thing. I simply cut them back so I have just enough to tie down and cement. They're great for small bunker patterns.

The eyes work great, easy to keep in place with afew wraps of thread. The eyes are available in three sizes and four colors. Francine at Down-n-Trout in Pt. Pleasant NJ has them all the time. She ships anywhere 732-295-7335. She will also be at the Marlboro Fly fishing show in January.

I've used them for several years now. Got them direct from Witchcraft when they first came out. Gold, silver, yellow and night white (my term), each in 3 sizes. On most flies, I agree that you do need to cut back on the lenght of the tab. Also, on larger flies, I you often need to goop or super glue the eye onto the fly body; the self adhesive just is not strong enough. Then again, there have been several times when I haven't done that and the eyes have flaired out, almost perpendicular to the fly, and those flies have fished very well!

He's also a good guy if you ever see him on the water. I ran into him several times this past fall while searching for albies. He'll answer questions, help you land fish, and seems to have a genuine enthusiasm for the sport in general. In fact, now that you mention it, I do have to go to his site and pick up a few things and these eyes that are being discussed will be one of the items I buy since I've never tried them before.
