Because of my situation (Wheelchair Confined) I need something to keep me from losing my sanity when their will be days and weeks, that I won't be able to get out.
Although i do tie a lot of Saltwater Flies, I will start tying Classic Freshwater Streamers "Carrie Stevens" type I believe she has as many as 50 differant patterns.
I will post as i progress, maybe one a week unless i would bore some, and hope that I do get some critique to tie a better Classic Fly
The frist fly is her World Famous "GREY GHOST"

Hey Joe, it's good to see you are still at the vise. Although I have never met or spoken to you I always enjoyed your work.

I don't know how to include a link.

book title: Fly Rod Crosby, The woman who marketed maine.

authors: Julia Hunter & Earle Shettleworth Jr.

just a good book about a woman that had the savvy to market the rangeley lakes region for all recreation. fishing, hunting, etc.

some good old photo's, stories of some of our blue ribbon waters in the western mountains and references to the tying persistence of Carrie Stevens.

Enjoy!

Oh, that grey ghost looks good too. I've been affixing eyes in the past few years. similar to a deciever. it's been my experience when fishing live bait the salmon strike at the head. what i've done is tie a tandem red ghost, and affix eyes. seems to work pretty good for me.
