Hi,
I am heading to the Yucatan Christamas Eve and plan do do some saltwater fly fishing. We plan to go to Punta Allen, Punta Herrero, and Xcalac among other places. We are bringing kayaks to use for exploring and fishing Bahia de la Ascension, Bahia Espiritu Santo and Bahia Chetumal. Any tips, suggestions for fishing these areas? Unfortunately hiring a guide or staying at one of the "Bonefishing Palaces" is out of our financial realm at this point so we are on our own. I have read quite a bit about flats fishing and know generaly what types of places to fish but would like to get some specifics on good places to launch from as well as specific flats, islands ect. I so far have only heard about Boca Paila as a specific palce to launch and fish.
