My wife and I are thinking of a trip to Eluethera in February. Cocodimama has been recommeded for lodging. Any advice on lodging, guides, flies, etc. would be appreciated.

I really enjoyed Quality Inn Cigatoo. Clean accomodations, great landscaping, pool, bar and restaurant. Cable TV too. It's very centrally located on the hill above Governor's Harbour so you can easily go north or south to fish. I tied a bunch of different flies but size 4 gotchas were really all I needed. If I got a good shot and presented the fly without spooking the fish, this fly usually did the trick. If you've bonefished before, there's really no need for a guide on this island. You just need to know how to spot them. If it's sunny, you'll be fine. If it's cloudy, then you either need to spot tailers or scan really hard and look for the moving shadows. In my opinion, it's much more rewarding to sight and catch fish on your own, than with a guide.

Thanks for the info. I look forward to my trip. It'll be my first DIY experience.

Coco di Mama is a good choice. The place is very nice, food is great, and they have lots of toys to play with- kayaks, snorkel gear, etc. There's also fishing right out front. You should have a good time. Go to cocodimama.com to get a look. Have fun.
