Cozumel, Caymans, or Costa Maya???

Cruizin :-% :cool: first wk of April, which place should I book a fishing trip - probably will only be able to slide a half day...?? don't care if its flats or offshore just wanna fish! --127-3-

You've got some pretty decent options in all locations. Offshore is HOT in all locations. Best shot at Blue suits is gonna be Caymans. Cozumel and Costa Maya (Puerto Aventuras, bet. Cancun and Tulum, is the best port) have great sailfish, white marlin and occasional blues in April. But- if you are targeting billfish, a half day is really asking for a lot of luck. For the flats, and a half day, I think Cozumel may be your only good option. It's too far to get down to Boca Paila, and Little Cayman has the best bonefishing, although there are flats around GC.

edit- I just saw where Costa Maya (the cruise port) is. I don't know what you will find for fishing down there. I'd be careful, as the only thing going on appears to be ther cruise port. I'd go snorkeling- with a group. Go fishing in Cozumel or Caymans.

Thanks for the help - given the time in each port it seems Cozumel offers the best option...now just got to broker the deal with wifey.... :eek:
