I would be willing to be swapmeister for another swap. I am inclined to say it should just be an 'anything goes' swap. But I am definitely up for suggestions.

I would want the due date to be Feb. 15. Kind of a quick turn around, but the weather is horrible.

Do they have to be saltwater-specific flies? Or can I contribute something that I use in salt and fresh?

A little less than one week for the flies to be in.

I am not trying to pressure people but swaps just work better if they don't drag out.

Thanks.

So all of the flies are in. They look great. I will post a few pictures of them soon. I took them already but my cousin still hasn't returned my cord.

The flies are all in their boxes and ready to go. I will mail them today (Monday the 21st.)

Each box includes 11 flies - the ten in the swap and one extra. A few of you included a few extras in your packages and I dispersed them. To about half of your packages I added the extra fly - they are the fly that I tied for the classic swap. It is a deceiver but with oversized eyes.

Thanks for tying. I hope it all results in many fish caught. I am glad that the swap went so smoothly. I like it when people can get their flies a week after the deadline.

A common practive is to send an extra fly for the swapmasters efforts.

Very excited to get the package when i got home last night. Great flies. What is the small one with the clear epoxy body? When/how would you fish it? Cool little fly

CaptSuperfly
02-28-2005, 01:12 PM
Thanks Mike, The little epoxy is mine. It's a bay anchovy imitation that has been great for me with the albies when they are on the rainbait. The profile also imitates really small peanut bunker nicely.

As far as fishing it goes, it's reall simple. If the fish are charging bait, get it in front of them and strip it fast. If they are balling the bait up before cutting through the middle, cast it to the edge of the bait ball and let it drop, stipping in enough line to keep in strong contact with it.

Sometimes, when the fish are real sparse and sipping bait (very tough fish to hook), I fish it with a floating line and cast in front of approaching fish. I wait for them to get close, then strip the fly right in front of their faces.

I've been out of town but I get back tomorrow. I can't wait to see the flies.

Mike
