i know it's not the best time of year, but i need action and have time for it. well, a little time. all i want is to see the tail or back of a redfish and have a chance at landing my fly in front of it's nose. been down to 8 Mile Rd once and had zero tails. there's got to be something somewhere this time of year. any suggestions welcome. thanks.
Someone once told me to try the flats just north of Pirate's Cove just south of Galveston. I have never been there but this person mentioned hard bottoms, good grass clumps, oyster bars, etc. I wish I could go or tell you from experience but I can't.

if you have a kayak, christmas bay is good .tom
S.Christmas is nice, too. The water is really clear, but cold. I've been down that way several times befre but it takes a long time to get there from my neighborhood so I try to tay a little farther north on the gulf than that.
I don't have a yak, but I want to make a driftboat or something like it eventually so I can get around better.
