Just got back from a week's cruise in TCI. Trolling from French Cay to West Caicos we landed a 47" Curved Fork Length X 27" Girth Mahi-mahi. Anyone know the formula for estimating weight? It was a big male that I guess weighed 48 - 53 lbs. but I'd sure like to confirm that. I also became known on the boat as the best 1/2 fisherman around. Lost the best half of tuna and mutton snappers to barracuda and shark. Landed 1 and missed 1 Bonefish on a size 4 yellow shrimp pattern. It also yielded a nice 5 lb. mutton snapper. Wish our cruise schedule and tides had worked together better but it was an exploratory trip. Chilly water temps, air temps and winds gusting to 40+ mph one nite probably won't keep me away. Gotta give the tour operator a chance to learn the area better. Now, if I can just shake this damn cold I picked up the last 2 days...
