I thought I would share with the board some of the funniest writing, not to mention a TRUE STORY...the names have been deleted to protect the authorand the property owner....so here ya go ...hope you enjoy it as much as I did....its so true... --125-3 I would like to get this story off my chest.
We rented this place for 10 nights, about $1500. A week or so before we are set to go, and after he had cashed our final payment, we get a 20 page instruction manual on how to operate this place from the owner, via email. You can do this, but you can't do that. You can't do these two things at the same time. The septic system is delicate, the AC is on a diesel generaor, only to be used at night. We had a limit of three gallons on diesel fuel and then surcharges kicked in.
My buddy said "that's OK, as long as I can take a nap and a crap'. I looked it up, he couldn't do those in close time proximity to each other.
The frig was powered by propane, never saw that before, and didn't work so good. The generator through a fan belt and didn't work for a few days. The alternator pulley packed up, the starter switch had to be shorted out to fire the motor.
The "caretaker" came by a couple of times, between drinking binges and going to Ft. Lauderdale to see if his vital organs were still functioning.
We were given the wong padlock combination to the gate at the head of the private road going down to the property. Fortunately, someone at (local Bar) remembered it.
We drank and cursed a lot and had a great time, but thank God there were no wives or children. The place is a death trap for kiddies, with unprotected 20' drops to that nasty rocky
soil.
No, I don't think that we'll going back there.
