Hi all,
Looking for a T&T 4-piece 8 or 9wt. for travel to Belize this summer. Anyone looking to unload one?

hey... be aware, i have heard that they have recently changed their design, not for the better... they may have changed hands or something, you might want to check. i am familiar with the older horizon (?) models, they are really good... but i fished a new 12 wt. last week, same model supposedly but new, and i didn't like it at all. it didn't load well, and the guides were all off--they didn't run straight... i was surprised the rod ever left the factory that way... especially since it was a t n' t...

No worries on the new design...
I have tried their new horizon series with no complaints and own a few of their "original" horizon series rods. I wouldn't fish any other rod...but thats my personal preference. There is no way you fished a T&T rod with guides that were not aligned properly. I live close-by to the factory and have visited many times. At T&T, there is no such thing as a "second" rod. Everything that comes out of there is to perfection. I am sorry you had such a bad impression with their rods.

like i said, i love the older horizon rods. but i swear (and i could prove it but i'd have to name names, etc.) i threw a 12 wt. that the guides were "off"... i tried lining them up over and over... i thought it was my eyes. we both couldn't believe it, either. i think t+t makes great stuff... that's exactly why i was surprised. still managed to handle 2 100# tarpon, whipped them very quickly... so the guide thing didn't alter our fishing... but again, it was a bit of a shock to see.

Frisbie,
I am selling an 8 wt. T & T Horizon Series 4 piece rod in mint condition; the rod sock & T & T metal tube included. I used it for a few hours on one trip to the Bahamas and caught 4 bonefish on it. I just have too many rods right now and need to come up with $$ for a fall elk hunt. Asking $395 (it was $630 new). Call me at 207-650-9559 (Maine) and I'll tell you more.

I agree that T&T makes great rods -- all of them top-notch. The new Horizon II utilizes the same tapers as the old models, but it's a new graphite which makes the rod lighter and stronger.
I fish the 7, 8 and 9 and they're outstanding fly rods.
