Winter Projects: Rod building

I have been pretty lame about following up on my winter project. I have one rod to wrap and I can't find time to get it done. (Too busy changing diapers!) I have now given up on doing a butt wrap but will spend a few hours wrapping the guides on.

Anyone want to post some pics of interesting guide wraps that they have done? I could use a little inspiration. I promise I won't steal your colors!

Plus it would be interesting to see what others are doing.

I am building a 6wt the blank is matte black and my wraps are going to be either blue or garnet, without color preserver.

I'm rewrapping a 7/8wt (putting a larger stripper guide) and would like to build another toy for myself. I'm thinking about either building a 6wt for shad and trout (I recently moved to Western Mass from the Cape--don't ask) or maybe building a real 8/9 for occasional trips to the salt. I already wrapped a salmon rod for my brother to use a light-duty surf spinner, but the tip-top has been backordered for a month now and I haven't been able to finish it.

Here's a couple I did, nothing special but maybe they will help your motivation.

I've got a 12 & 15 wt GUSA on the way, a SAGE XP 7 and a XI2 14 weight I'm going to go overboard on to match a 4 color custom anodized ABEL 5.

Chris, nice job on that cork! I always wanted to learn to make grips like that. They would be wasted on me though--I am a fishing rod pig.

My new line is that I'm not doing butt wraps so I can make the rod lighter. (#$119)

Where else, made it. I get really, really bored. And with 4 kids I need something to keep me from going insane.
