st.croix

I'm headed to St.Croix in March -05? Can anyone recommend a good guide /charter operator for flats fishing etc? Is there anywhere on island that is accessable by foot or car?

i did some diving in st. croix in 2001 so my info is dated. at that time there was only one 8wt. fly rod on the island and it was the one i brought. there was some nascent fly fishing operation and they told me about some wade fishing venues along the north coast east of cane bay. i did catch some fish there including some snappers, jacks, and even a small permit but it was not really a fishing oriented situation. there were big flats on the south coast and the the protected waters at jack's bay but i did no fishing there. the snorkeling was great and there were lots of fish, however. as i remember the fly fishing guide was at the harbor in christianstad and i got in touch through the local dive shop. i hear there are more opportunities at st. thomas and st. johns so you might try there. hope this helps.
