Hi guys: I need your advice, I have TFO Ticr rods from 8 to 12 wt line and now almost the whole TFO Ticr X (waiting for a 9 wt).
I was doubting to go heavier than a 12 wt because normally I do not practice bluewater fishing, but now somebody want to sell me a Redbone 14 wt (new, was always a back p rod) for half of the price.
Any advice or suggestion on this 14 wt ?

Here's my thoughts on what I call Tuna fly rods.

You can get them at reasonable prices. The TFO for example, $250.

What kills you is the cost of a reel suitable for the species your likely to target.

If you already have a reel for Tuna / Sailfish, great. But if not think about the cost of such an item to match that rod/species.

On the flip side, a good deal is a good deal.

Hi Ray: Thanks for the input. About the suitable reels. I have 2 Redington Brakewater 11/12 and a Nautilus. I think they are more than enough.

What size Nautilus do you have?

I'm thinking of getting the 10 for Albies and SBFT
