I have the BG #4 on my sage 9 weight and worked out great, real nice drag on the reel, so I'd either go with the #4 or #5 as Mike said

I have a BG #5 which I am very happy with. I can load a 9 or 10 wgt line and have plenty of backing for that day I hook moby

Go with either the #4 or #5. I decided on the #4 with my 9wt and have never run into a backing problem or seen a fish that it can't handle. Great reels and very easy to maintain! You really can't go wrong with either!
