Hi,

I am shopping for a 10 wt for saltwater fishing. I plan to use this for Rooster, Barracuda, Tarpon, Dorado, as well as some local Salmon fishing. I have narrowed down my choice to either Scott S3s or Sage Xi2 rods. I have read favorable reveiws on both of these rods in previous posts but Sage seems to be more common/popular. Anyone tested/compared these two rod models? These rods cast similarly but the Scott is a bit heavier and stouter. I have heard the the ferrule inserts used by Scott can wear out, is this true?. Any thoughts or comment about these two rods would be appreciated.

Haven't cast the Scott rods but the Sage Xi2 is super-sweet, light, fast, and deadly accurate.

I own the scott s3s 10 wt. Despite I do like more the round fighting butt as found in the Sage rods. I do like more the casting style of the scott. Also the cosmetics are th best. ferrule problems. never never in all my scott. I also have some sage. but cast them first and then decide.
