A few years ago at the Wilmington, Ma. show I asked the Seaguar rep this very same question. At first he tried to avoid the subject but I had him on the ropes and was not letting him up. He indicated that the QA and tolerances were more stringent with the leader spools but that essentially it was the same material. After going through several 30M spools I went with the larger spool from Cabelas last year. Lots of guys don't think this stuff makes a difference. That's a good thing.
