You might want to read the posts on the reel for SBFT thread before buying. I used to be keen on Charlton, but after reading the comments from those fellows with thier hats on backwards, I'm selling all mine to buy Haydens. That's if the guy working in his shed in australia can make make enough to get to the local fly shops. All kidding aside, there is just what your looking for on ebay right now. Mary, What may I ask are you selling? I currently own a 8550C with both left Tarpon and Bone spools. I'd like to hunt down a Offshore spool for that frame or the 8500C reel with the Offshore spool. Any help? if you'd like you can e-mail me. Thanks

I was only kidding about selling my Charltons: not to happen ! But there is a left hand 8550C Offshore reel for sale on Ebay right now . The 8550C Offshore is the most sought after Charlton reel made, not the most popular, but most sought after. I don't think it will last long on Ebay, and the price is right. By the way, are you from down San Diego way?

Mary, that wasn't very nice. And the reel on ebay is a Charlton Tarpon spool, not the Offshore. Or I'm I missing something?

RIRed - the seller on ebay with tarpon model has had quite a few reels up lately (at least i believe it is the same person). Drop him an email to check if he has what you are looking for.

Thanks for the help. When typing in "Charlton reel" only the Tarpon and smaller reels who appear. After Mary made me aware of it, I typed just "Charlton" the Offshore posted along with alot of Charlton Heston stuff. Bought it on the spot. Thanks again for all your assistance. Esp you Mary! Very SNOTTY Attitude, I don't like the personal attack on Terry, whom is a GREAT guy thats builds 300 reels a year then goes fishing.

SO GET OFF IT OR GO AWAY.
