Westport and Islands

I live and fish in the waters around Westport and go flyfishing every Sunday morning that I can. From time to time I have room on the boat and would welcome company. Unfortunately I stop fishing when the cranberry harvest starts in mid September. If you are interested I'll check this post.

Greetings- saw your post and thought I should attempt to connect to share info etc- I also have a boat in Westport harbor and have been FF for 15 years- my boat is a 21 foot Regulator ("Rhumboogie") that i keep at Spindle Rock Club- I also know several guys w/ 20 foot Seacrafts (thatas what I had before the Regulator) - we fish as far as MV, Noman's, Mudhole, Sakonnet, Jamestown etc. Give a yell sometime- my cell is 401 623-0423 and I carry it when fishing. I definately know your boat. I believe we have a mutual friend with a Sky blue SeaCraft- Robbie M. I have a white 20 Ft Seacraft and would lve to fish MV and Nomans with you sometime, as I have had an old motor until this year. Like I say, Sunday's my slot so I'll definately give you a call. I figured the connection out when I spoke to RM- he straighten me out. Sundays I am usually out too- you may want to consider shooting over to middleground off Lake Tashmoo on the Vineyard during the end of May early June- big hoovies are available for fly fishermen in that rip- they are usually there for 2-3 weeks feeding on squid- i have an easy tie squid pattern if you are interested and tie your own. It is about a 50 minute run from Westport but can be well worth the trip. Regards, Regulator 21

Hi!

I'm kind of new to SWFF. Fish the Farmington and the Catskills regularly for the past 8 years. Dying to learn the salt.

I live in New Britain, long haul, but so is the whole coast!

I would be interested in joining you. I work every other weekend. May is booked solid, family stuff, I have a daughter graduating from Syracuse the 15th, and a niece making her first communion the 1st. I work the 7th/8th, and of course the 8th is Mother's Day anyway! The 22nd, grad party for my daughter, then Memorial Day.

First weekend in June, off to the Catskills for "Bug Week"! Beyond that, wide open!

My brother in law has a 25' Mako and is a fun guy to go flyfishing with. I forget which town his boat is in but I'm sure it's right in that location. I'm going down to fish with him the second weekend in May and I'll tell him about your post.

Recoil...Well my geography is a little off. My BIL's boat is in Greenwich on the Mianus river. There is some nice fishing in his area but the islands are about 12 miles away. He has fished them before and he said they are real fishy, but he is just beginning to learn about them. I'll let you know how we do two weekends from now.

Just a short run east to the Islands, he probably fishes some area that I go west for, the area around Stamford, Darien. Decent spots all along this coast.

Let me know what happens and we can compare notes. Maybe I can help him with what little I know about the islands.

I am getting to know the Lloyds-Demarest Park flats and S. Creek mouth via kayak and love the flyfishing around there. Happy to join you in June, after 10th, any day, including weekdays until July. I live in Medfield.
