Drove by this morning. Torrent. Rain this weekend too. I would plan on second third week in April.

If you are out this way and are having an absolute jones, Quinnepoxit into Wach Res might be fishable but just.

Patience grasshopper....

Yep. Totally submerged. Rising water has it a few inches under the grate of the bridge. Haven't seen too many people try it this winter, I live right around the corner.

Tried fishing it last Friday - no luck for me, but I didn't cover too much water in the couple of hours I fished. Water was low then, was hoping that there was some stocked fish, or something a little bigger coming up from the reservoir a little early. Did find out my neoprenes have a very bad seam failure in the left bootie though.

Try west waushacum right by the boat ramp if you're desparate.

By mid-April is when I tend to spot the fish in the Stillwater. In years prior, I found that the trout seem to hang with the suckermouths that run up the river to spawn. Last year there must have been 100+ suckers to 6lbs hanging right under the bridge.

Yeah, those suckers get HUGE. I tried to get one to eat a fly last year, bounced nymphs and wooly buggers off their noses and they didn't even budge. Would have been interesting to hook into one on the 4 weight!

They get real spooky after a while and dart around when they see people approach. Gave a tongue lashing to some kids who were trying to snag them. I guess they saw someone else do it and they followed suit.
