Anyone know the access situation on the Douglaston side? I mean next to the marsh area at the head. Also, any fish being taken?

At the Douglaston Manor side there are signs posted all over "No Trespassing". They even have private security guards watching and will call the police if you try to get down to the water. Last year there were at least 10 or more surfcasters that had to go to court for trespassing. You can fish the Cross Island Pkwy side of LNB but don't park at the marina.

I am new to this area, but have been looking at Little Neck Bay as a potential for a boat-fishing spot. Anyone willing to give me the quick and dirty on LNB as a place to find fish, and fish from a boat? I would appreciate any info or suggestions you might be willing to make.

I've flyfished two locations in "the manor" with good results (not yet this year though). It is entirely legal to park on many of the side streets, though perhaps not overnight. I fish the inlet at the park on the northeast side of the manor and at the stairs on the west side. The security force has looked but never bothered me in those locations.

Never got any big stripers but I have been into monster blues at the stairs.

Well- there seems to be conflicting evidence as to access. I'll probably stick to fishing in front of Totten or up by the head on the XIs side.

Thanks for the info guys. Any other tidbits you would be willing to toss out about the Western Sound would me most welcome.

mfreliech your correct it is "Legal" to park there but it's illegal to walk down that 12ft of grass that leeds from the street to the waters edge. There's "No Trespassing" signs posted all over that area. Here's a link about the subject from last year:
