Some news I want to share with RT members.

Picked up a pair of Hobie sunglasses from Sierra Outdoors for $65.00 full glass. Broke a lens three days later. Since these were close outs and were broke do to my error, I didn't contact Sierra but later found Hobies repair/ Eyewear Licensee are right here in Plainview, Long Island. One phone call later and I was in their office waiting on a repair. 5 minutes later and $35.00 I was back in the game all fixed up. Now I'm in $90 on a pair valued at $165 and still ahead in the game. $8.00 lanyard should ensure any future drops.

Point is, if your in the market for specs, and live here on L.I. think about Hobie as you can fix them in a pinch if need be.

P.S. Walked a flat in Puerto Rico with the Hobies and there quite good.

I accidently broke the frame on my Smith Action Optics and sent them back to the company for a repair quote for a new frame, they send me my lenses back mounted in brand new frames at NO CHARGE!!! www.actionoptics.com

I didn't go back to Hobie as these were purchased with a "Closeout" catalogue. My last pair were A.Optics and they were great...broke a lense early on and they did fix it for no cost. Went with the hobie's as in this particular catalogue they were marked down from $160.00 to $58.00.

So far on the water they are as good as the Optics.
