was pretty good on a canoe trip this week. Caught fish at a couple of places in Norfolk and Millis, both accessible only by canoe - both downstream from bridges where fast water enters deeper pools. Caught a few fieisty rainbows, one of which had to be 18", and one brown which seemed especially beautifully golden, after seeing a few silvery rainbows. All fish caught on metal spoon, not fly. No bass or pickerel, which was a little suprprising, perhaps still too cold for the bass.

I live in Norfolk and never thought to fish that section of the charles. Where do you put in?

We took a farily long canoe ride - put in at Walker Street bridge in Medway and took out at Rt. 115 launch area, which border of Norfolk/millis, I believe. That launch is probably the best one around - plenty of parking and you can go upstream, with a little work initially, or downstream. I think there's also a launch in Populatic Pond, and an informal one off of River Street where the river swings close. It's a nice section of the river - faster and shallower than the dover/Natick stretch.
