I don't know Brendan, I think that guy stole my cow striper. What fly did you catch that big bass on? John

all the fish were caught on a small clouser (about 3 ") even thought the baits were 12". All the Capr Cod guys are saying all the herring are gone, they aren't they just happen to still be down here!!! Hope you are well, John. Was great to see you the other day
What a difference a week makes
Will be out there for sure next week throwing flies from the shore --125-3
How easy is it to access J-Bay from shore? Would I be looking for a needle in a haystack? Or are there any non-secret spots someone could recommend to a newby to the bay?
Thanks

Brendan,
Winter is over and another season is upon us. And as usual you are killin' me with these reports;) Really good to hear you are into them once again, never a bad thing to find the fish especially in your chosen profession. I have been working my A** off and have not had a chance to even look at the boat except to remove the cover, and now I have quite a cleaning job to do no thanks to the spring tree buds. I knew I should have waited to pull the cover. Worked on the motor a little bit but still have work to do. With gas as high as it is I may be fishing from shore a bit more this season. Has the gas prices forced you to raise your fees??? If not you must be taking a bit of a hit in the wallet. They are saying that prices might reach the $4.00 a gallon range by July--126-3- . May have to pick and choose my trips alot more this season which is not something that makes me happy. Good luck dude, I give you a buzz one day soon to shoot the fish and see how things are.

Great to hear Paul. the water is still real cold with 47 out by jetty and 53 in bay so it is just getting started. this is my first day off and am happy for it. dosent sound good for tomorrow though either. Mike good to hear from you. job is going well? heard there are some good fish in Peconic. we still haven't gotten anything over 12 pounds so it is not a total slaughter here. good luck guys and keep in touch

PECONICS!!!:brow
I fished them about two seasons ago and really enjoyed the whole area. That is one awesome place to poke around lots of nooks and crannies. Definitely a flats boat paradise. I did not have much trouble fishing it in my boat but a flats boat is definitely a big advantage over there. A bit of a haul for me from CT. but not as bad as Montauk. I am going to try and get back over there again this spring for a trip or two.
