Fished shelter Island this past weekend Jim Hull and a couple other friends. Saturday was really windy, consistently blew 20 with higher gusts. This limited our options, but Jim found us a few places to hide and fish. We had 2 keepers 30 & 32" covered with lice, several 26 & 27" also covered with lice, and several dozen schoolies over the 2 days. Sunday was the better weather day yet the fishing was better on Saturday. Fished the beachs on the south side of the island Saturday afternoon for another 8 shorts to 26". Overall a nice weekend of fishing, and the first keepers of the season are always a good thing. Fished the drop flies of choice were chart/white, yellow/white deceivers and grey/pink baitfish patterns.
