If you read mattmiller's post about seeing big bass in the Peconic's... believe it! This is the time of the year to be on the Great Peconic so I've been at it whenever I can. Fishing the outgoing last night, I found the largest, fattest spearing I've ever seen - 5" - 7" and plump as can be. Threw on a 6" black deceiver and was rewarded with two huge run-offs into Dacron. One came to hand and what a fish! Difficult to get an accurate measurement since I was 200 ft from the beach in 3 ft of water but a bass of 36", minimum & released in great shape. --127-3- This body of water will warm up quickly, so take advantage now!
