Got on the water about 5:00 pm Saturday for some evening fishing. Found a school of Bunker just north of Great Kills, pretty good action with some nice 8-10 lb bluefish until the tunderstorm sent us back to the barn. Sunday AM again bluefish around the Verrazano bridge on a school of herring and some other smaller bait mixed in. Picked up some more blue fish and one small bass on the rocks under the bridge. The fish were eating pretty much any fly we threw, large half and halfs, BT Deceivers, bunker flies and herring flies. Found some small blue fish in front of the Wonder Wheel and that was pretty much it for us. The guys fishing clams and live lining bunker were getting some nice bass. We just had a hard time getting through the bluefish and I'm not too upset by that...I don't know the area very well so I guess we did OK
