Sunday Morning's Incoming (5:30-6:30) took eight bass in Huntington Harbor to 23". All fish sitting in less than 6' of water and took Chartruese/White Ultra Hair Clousers. Half the fish were real dinks no bigger than a foot, others were schoolies that were real chunky although I didn't see any visible bait in the water. Drop outside in the bay yielded nothing. Beautiful morning on the water.

Ditto the above for yesterday 6/1 AM. The only change was that most of the fish were chunky schoolies to 24" with only two dinks.

Early this morning 5:30-8:00 three bass to 26" on Chartruese/White Half & Halfs in shallow water in the Harbor, at the Inlet and inside Llloyd. Tough going on the very last of outgoing/slack off the new moon. Needed to wet a line.
If it was outgoing all night, does that mean that for the crazy people who stay up fishing worm hatches on the new moon it should have been perfect conditions?

fmw,
As I mentioned in my other e-mail, once we got home just after midnight from Montauk sunday, I seriously pondered hopping back in my boat and hitting the hatch.
Absolutely right, I'd bet my hat, hatch came off on the outgoing before I made it out but these morning jaunts are "pre-work" and I can't get too tired if work is in order. These fish are usually 18-24", I've only taken one keeper in all my trips for the hatch. Now, if they were bigger, you know I'd say f work and hit the water right at the beginning of the ebb.
