I fished the Connecticut River Tuesday from about 10 am to 12:30pm in the Turners Falls area. The area that I fished can have a mixed bag this time of the year with Shad making up the majority of the fish. Yesterday was very strange in that I only caught two Shad and no Smallmouths. The strange part was that I did catch 6 Rainbows from 12 to 15 inches. Just when I think I know what I'm doing I get surprised. Gear up for bear (5 to 6 pound shad) and catch bunnies (1/2 pound rainbows).
