Fished Salters Pt. last night. East wind, noluck. Fished
Allen's Pond today, inside and out. Good water, nw wind, but
no bait and no bumps. To be expected with no herring run
here. Sure felt good to get back on the water. Counting down
to the big moon at the end of May, when the big fish usually
show up. Best to

Reed,

Thanks for the info on Allen's Pond. I was thinking
about going down there this past weekend, but I got
sucked into painting my house. They're definitely taking
schoolie bass at the Hixbridge, and I'm probably going
to hit that, as well as the Westport River (under the 88
overpass) next weekend. I'll post how I do.

Cheers...

Dave

There should be a slug of schoolies in the Westport by now.
A couple of big fish show up by now, but historically the
big moon at the end of May has the big fish all over the
area.

Cut herring in the deep holes tends to be the trick for big
fish this time of year, and there are VERY big fish in the
river. The schoolies will bunch up in the corners and holes.
Or wherever they feel like it.
