Poppy Report 4/29 & 30

Started in Cotuit on saturday catching a few fish in the North bay/Prince cove area. As we moved into the larger bodies of water the fishin died. Decided to swing over to Poppy where we found a nice spot with a good hole and herring being chased out of the water. We caught a good number of fish ranging from 10 inches to 20. Caught one fish that looked like it had a large bite out of its back (fully healed and scaled very old injury);

Sunday by myself launched directly into Poppy. similar scenaria. Caught a few on the fly. Most on a chartreuse bucktail., Rarely went 10 cast without a fish and often went 3 or 4 cast fish each time. Many of the fish I caught had lice.

Hey Dave Co. I had to replace my trailer bearing on sunday.

Bob, the guy at the marina was actually able to fix my wheel. I shudder to think what would have happen had that happened on the highway. I'll be around next Sunday. Dave.

I made it out Saturday morning for a while. Started in Waquoit, fished the channel - nada. Worked my way over to Poppy, but again, nothing. Picked up a few fish in North Bay, but not in any great numbers.

I am still breaking in the new boat and learning the area. It looks like I will be able to get out both days this weekend!!!

I was also amazed at the amount of squid boats working the sound.
